Understanding Trauma in Children Workshop

Dee from Embracing Embodied Minds and Mel from Integra healing Co, would like to have a conversation with early Childhood educators on the impact of stress and Trauma on a Childs behavior's and how it can be understood and managed in a mindful and supportive way.

As educators, let's reflect on how we can view and understand Children's behavior's and how we adapt and modify our practices, interactions and environments to ensure we are appropriately looking through a "trauma informed lens". while also striving to meet the diverse regulation, social and emotional needs of our children in our classrooms. With a particular focus on those Children and families from Trauma backgrounds.

As Educators and care givers we must be readily available to model calm and age-appropriate responses to social cues, problem solving and transitions. We want to increase understanding of Trauma and its impact, whilst further developing our Early Childhood community inclusion capacity and capability, to support calm, settled enrollments, engagement and participation for all children, alongside their fellow peers, regardless of their life experiences and limited social/emotional skills.
